Jared Spurgeon's two goals not enough as Minnesota's comeback falls short
Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon notched two goals as the Wild’s season came to an end Sunday afternoon.
What It Means:
The Wild stormed back in the third period against the Dallas Stars, but ultimately couldn’t get the job done, losing 5-4 in Game 6 of the first-round series. Surgeon had three shots on goal, four hits and five blocks in 26:28. Jonas Brodin (goal, assist) and Jason Pominville picked up the other goals.
Spurgeon's 49.3 Corsi For Percentage and 2.0 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength were both in line with his career averages. He netted 11 goals with 18 assists this year, giving him a career-best 29 points.
