Tampa Bay's Brian Boyle nets two goals in losing effort

Tampa Bay Lightning center Brian Boyle scored a pair of goals in Tampa Bay's 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

What It Means:

The Bolts appeared to open the scoring in the first period when Jonathan Drouin beat Matt Murray, but after review, Drouin was called offside. Boyle finally got the Bolts on the board with his goal at the 5:30 mark of the third period. He cut the Penguins lead to 3-2 just over seven minutes later. Unfortunately for Tampa, that's as close as they would come to tying the game. Boyle has five goals in 16 playoff games this postseason. Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final goes Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

In the regular season, Boyle scored 13 goals and dished out seven helpers. His 51.1 Corsi For Percentage and -2.7 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength were both career-best clips.
