Red Wings sign Danny DeKeyser to six-year deal

Detroit Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser has signed a six-year contract worth $30 million to stay in Detroit.

What It Means:

They beat the salary arbitration date (which was set for July 28), and with both sides interested in a long-term deal, it's no surprise they ended up getting one done.

DeKeyser is coming off of a rough season, with only 20 points (his fewest since his 11-game rookie year) as well as an ugly -5.8 relative Corsi For percentage at Even Strength with an average time-on-ice of 21:48.
