West Ham was demolished by Liverpool, while Bournemouth cruised to victory against Cardiff. Had these two sides played last week, West Ham might have been highly owned, coming into the season with optimism after a spending spree in the summer. However, after their defeat to Liverpool and Bournemouth's victory over Cardiff, they might be lower owned than they should be.

It is difficult to glean any attacking insights from their match against Liverpool, but Jack Wilshere was slotted in as an attacking midfielder behind Arnautovic ($9,500). While that position didn't amount to much against Liverpool, it should be valuable against Bournemouth in a match West Ham are favored in by 0.5 goals. The knock on Wilshere has always been his ability to stay healthy, but at the moment he is fit and in a position to produce for West Ham.

After a slow start again a Liverpool side that may go on to win the league, this weekend is West Ham's chance to truly begin their 2018 campaign. If they struggle at home against Bournemouth, it will be time to start questioning if this will be a repeat of last season. Until then, there should be more optimism about their talented attack heading into this weekend.
