Lineups Will Be Juggled

Teams in the Premier League played Matchweek 14 on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Now they will play their 15th match on Tuesday or Wednesday and be expected back on the field this weekend. Several of the teams play on both slates and will have the least amount of rest time between matches.

This is something to pay attention to every holiday season. The schedule is packed, and there will be only 14 days for the rest of the month that don't feature at least one Premier League match. Managers must figure out ways to keep their players fresh to compete in every fixture. That is easier for some managers like Pep Guardiola in Manchester City, a team with a deep bench.

The Premier League is currently the only top European league to not observe a holiday break. The league will observe a break next season, but for now, managers must be worried about fatigue and injuries.
