4 FanDuel Premier League Studs to Target for Matchweek 10

Manchester United are a massive two-goal favorite for their home match with Burnley, putting Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a great spot. What other players should you check out for Saturday's main slate?

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on high-priced studs, the players in which you’ve made the biggest investment. This especially true with strikers in soccer as goals are often the difference between winning and losing in DFS.

Let’s take a look at some high-priced players -- all across the pitch -- who, despite costing a good chunk of change, are worth the investment.

This is the first week that FanDuel here in the U.S. is offering DFS for the Premier League (it was previously only available in the U.K.) This article is geared toward the U.S.-based Premier League DFS and is for Saturday's main slate, which starts at 10 a.m. EST.

Here is the full schedule for this week's main slate.

Matchweek 10 Main Slate
Saturday, October 29th
Hull City at Watford
Manchester City at West Brom
Burnley at Manchester United
Leicester City at Tottenham
Bournemouth at Middlesbrough
Liverpool at Crystal Palace

A lot of the top sides were involved in midweek matches in the EFL Cup, so it's going to be important to check team sheets prior to kickoff to make sure stars aren't getting a rest.

Forward

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Manchester United

Price: $11,500

Listed as a two-goal favorite, Manchester United are the biggest favorite of the main slate -- and the entire Matchweek 10 schedule -- for their home clash with Burnley. Per oddsmakers, Ibrahimovic is the Red Devils' player with the best chance to score, which is no surprise.

Even though he hasn't put one in the back of the net in his last five league games, Ibrahimovic has been a solid fantasy producer in that span, scoring at least 11 FanDuel points in each of the Red Devils' last five fixtures.

Serving as Manchester United's lone striker atop the formation, Ibrahimovic is in a great spot this week. Burnley rank 19th in possession (40.5%), and they've allowed a league-worst 23.5 shots per game in road matches. The Red Devils should control this one, and Ibrahimovic will likely be heavily involved.

Midfielder

Etienne Capoue, Watford

Price: $8,200

With a home game against lowly Hull City, you're going to want some exposure to Watford. Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo are solid options are forward, but Capoue has been Watford's star man in the middle of the pitch.

He has netted 4 goals and 1 assist while completing 82.3% of his passes. He also draws 1.9 fouls per match and is one of the team's corner takers, giving him additional opportunities to create chances and record assists. At 23.9 FanDuel points per game, Capoue enters with the 6th-best FanDuel scoring average among midfielders at full fitness this week, yet he's just the 13th-most expensive option.

After a fast start, newly-promoted Hull City is suffering through a poor run of form, and they are a team to target in DFS. Hull allows the most shots per game (21.7), and they sit 15th in possession (45.6%). Watford doesn't normally boss the proceedings, holding a worse possession clip (44.5%) than Hull. But they've bagged 10 goals in their last six games, and as a one-goal favorite, they should be expected to see plenty of the ball in this one.

Defender

Christian Fuchs, Leicester City

Price: $6,000

Fuchs is always a solid option when Leicester take on a top-tier side, which is the case this week as they travel to Tottenham. Leicester's tendency to sit back and try to play on the counter -- the Foxes are 16th in possession (45%) -- gives Fuchs plenty of chances to rack up counting stats.

He should be busy this week as Tottenham rank second in shots per game (18.1) and fourth in possession (55.9%). Spurs are rolling, too, scoring 10 goals in their last six matches. For the year, Fuchs is averaging 2.6 tackles, 2.0 interceptions, 3.2 clearances and 45.6 passes per match. He's averaging 20 FanDuel points per game and is coming off a season-high 46-point outburst -- aided by his first goal of the season -- last week.

Goalie

Kasper Schmeichel, Leicester City

Price: £7.4 million

The same reasons Fuchs is a good play, Schmeichel, the Foxes' keeper, is also in a nice spot against Spurs. Averaging 16.4 FanDuel points per game, which ranks third among goalies, Schmeichel won't be bored in this one.

Schmeichel has played three top-level teams this season -- Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. In those three fixtures, he is averaging 17.7 points in those three matches, scoring at least 19 points in two of those contests.

As we just covered, Tottenham are in great form, and they are one of the better offensive sides in the league. Leicester haven't been the defensive force they were a year ago, allowing 15 goals in nine matches, but the backline of Fuchs, Danny Simpson, Robert Huth and Wes Morgan is still a formidable one. Leicester will likely absorb a lot of pressure, and with Spurs firing off 18.1 shots per match, Schmeichel will have a chance to rack up saves.
