FanDuel Premier League Matches to Target in Matchweek 7

Alvaro Morata and Chelsea host Manchester City in a contest that will provide plenty of fantasy options. What other match can help your FanDuel team?

The main Premier League slate on FanDuel for Matchweek 7 features six matches, highlighted by the big clash between Manchester City and Chelsea. Manchester United, which is sandwiched in the table between those two teams at second place on goal differential, is also a part of this week's slate.

Matchweek 7
Saturday, September 30th
Leicester City at Bournemouth
Crystal Palace at Manchester United
Southampton at Stoke City
Manchester City at Chelsea
Watford at West Brom
Swansea City at West Ham

The matches featuring the top three teams in the standings both have an over/under of three goals. The match at The Hawthorns has the lowest total at just two goals due in part to West Brom failing to score in three of four Premier League games against Watford.

Let's see which games to focus on this week.

Bournemouth vs. Leicester City

It has not been a good start for either of these clubs. The 4 points through six contests matches Leicester's worst Premier League start, while Bournemouth have set a new low for points through six games. There could be a sense of desperation in the air at Vitality Stadium and that leads to chaos, which can be great for your FanDuel team.

While a 1-1 draw is the odds-on favorite correct score, the importance of this early-season match could lead to more tallies. The Cherries will be confident at home, having gone unbeaten in all four Premier League games versus Leicester. Their best result of the year, a 2-1 win over Brighton, came at home.

Josh King is just behind Jamie Vardy as the most likely goal scorer and will cost only $7,500. He should play right behind Jermain Defoe up top in attack. Andrew Surman is further down the likely goal scorer list, but will be important if Bournemouth wants to focus on the attack. Surman averages over 17 fantasy points per match and scored in the win over Brighton.

Leicester will not sit back as they know that over 2.5 goals have been scored in the last seven matches played at Vitality Stadium. Vardy should lead a starting XI that looks familiar to what manager Craig Shakespeare has been trotting out despite the lackluster results.

Defenders Harry Maguire and Charlie Daniels are among the top per match scorers in this game and they have both scored once this year. Both teams are in the top five in shots allowed per match, so defenders should be busy. Maguire costs $6,500 to Daniels' $6,000.

The result of this match feels unpredictable, but the main players for FanDuel scoring should be names everyone is familiar with for these two sides. Luckily, the prices are very affordable.

Chelsea vs. Manchester City

The same cannot be said for the players in the final game of the day. Nine players are priced at $9,000 or greater, and all but two of them average at least 22 points per game. Given the firepower in this fixture, it is no wonder that a 2-1 final one way or the other is two of the top three picks for final score.

That was the final score when these teams met at Stamford Bridge this past April. Chelsea won both contests last year, taking the other by a score of 3-1. Chelsea have lost only one of their last seven home Premier League matches to City.

Alvaro Morata has led the charge for Chelsea with 6 goals through six Matchweeks. He would need 4 goals this weekend to match Mick Quinn's record through the first seven games with the team. He also scored in Champions League action on Wednesday. Morata is the most expensive Chelsea player at $11,000.

Chelsea's total goals scored, shots per match, and shots on target are all lower than Manchester City. However, they have been fouled more often and have completed slightly more dribbles per match. Defensively, City have only allowed two goals to Chelsea's five, but Chelsea should provide a different test.

Which players will be on the field for City this weekend is anyone's guess. Pep Guardiola has been juggling players in the early season with a heavy schedule. Leroy Sane started his second consecutive match on Tuesday in the Champions League, while Raheem Sterling was used as a substitute once again. Sterling scored after replacing Gabriel Jesus.

Sergio Aguero, who missed a penalty on Tuesday, played the majority of the match and seems ready to start again this weekend. However, he could be one of the better candidates to be withdrawn early depending on the flow of the match. Aguero is the most expensive player in the match at $11,500.

It is never good to guess Guardiola's starting XI, so it would be best to wait until the team news is released to lock in your FanDuel lineup. Regardless, this will surely be a great game to watch with plenty of FanDuel points to go around.
