3 FanDuel Premier League Trends to Exploit for Matchweek 15

Spotting trends is one way to stay ahead of the crowd in Premier League DFS. Here, we're going to try to hone in on recent occurrences across the EPL DFS landscape that appear to be a sign of things to come.

This article is geared toward FanDuel's main slate, which begins at 10:00 a.m. EST Saturday and features seven matches. Here's the match list.

Magic Mesut

No player epitomizes the turnaround in Arsenal's recent performances better than Mesut Ozil. Since a 2-1 loss at Watford back in October, Ozil has tallied 2 goals with 5 assists and created 17 chances.

When you compare that to what he did before the Watford game, it is quite revealing. Prior to the loss to the Horners, the German international had no goals, no assists and 17 chances created in one more game played. Not only that, but his shot accuracy has gone from 25% to 67%, respectively, in his pre- and post-Watford splits.

A note of caution is needed here, though. Ozil comes recommended on the assumption that Manchester United will go for the win against Arsenal and not park the bus, as Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has been known to do in big away matches. With Manchester United eight points off the leaders, Manchester City, nothing short of three points will do for Mourinho's men, especially with City almost guaranteed to come away with all three points in their Sunday match against West Ham.

An open game is good news for Ozil, and at $8,000, he is well worth a look.

Huddersfield's Away-Day Blues

It was a long time ago when Steve Mounie scored a brace in Huddersfield's 3-0 win at Selhurst Park back on the opening weekend in August, but that was the last time the Terriers scored away from home, a run of six blanks on the road for David Wagner's crew.

On top of that, Huddersfield will be up against a rejuvenated Everton side. The Toffees are coming off a comfortable 4-0 home win midweek over a poor West Ham bunch, and they'll likely get a shot in the arm with the appointment of Sam Allardyce as their new manager.

Huddersfield have only managed seven total shots on target in their last five games, compared to Everton's 21 in that span. With this in mind, expect one-way traffic at Goodison on Saturday. Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson are both priced at $8,000, and keeper Jordan Pickford ($5,000) has solid odds at a clean sheet.

Time For Spurs to Wake Up

Tottenham Hotspur have lost their last three Premier League away games, albeit against tough opposition in Manchester United, Arsenal and Leicester. Since beating Liverpool 4-1 at home on October 20th, Spurs have played five matches, losing three and drawing once while scoring a miserly three goals in the process.

However, Saturday's fixture with Watford -- an attacking side who provide the opposition plenty of scoring chances -- could be exactly what Mauricio Pochettino's men need. Liverpool (three goals), Manchester City (six) and most recently Manchester United (four) have all filled their boots at Vicarage Road in recent weeks. Tottenham got the better of Watford last season, as well, beating the Horners 4-0 at home and 4-1 away.

Of course, Spurs have plenty of appealing options -- among them Harry Kane, Dele Alli (who has scored three times in his last two games against Watford), Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela (who is just $5,500 and must be considered if he's in the starting XI) -- but rostering right-back Kieran Trippier likely gets you contrarian exposure to Tottenham without sacrificing much upside.

Trippier has scored at least 28 FanDuel points in four of his last five matches. He's also got a good record against Watford, averaging more than 30 FanDuel points in his last two outings away to the Hornets, tallying three assists in the process. That coupled with his excellent FanDuel output in Spurs' victories -- Tottenham are a 1.0-goal favorite -- puts Trippier in a good position to have another fantasy-friendly day on Saturday.
