3 FanDuel Premier League Trends to Exploit for Matchweek 24

Callum Wilson could continue his impressive record against The Hammers. Which other trends should we consider for Matchweek 24?

Spotting trends is one way to stay ahead of the crowd in Premier League DFS. Here, we're going to try to hone in on recent occurrences across the EPL DFS landscape that appear to be a sign of things to come.

This article is geared toward FanDuel's main slate, which begins at 10 a.m. EST on Saturday and features seven matches.

Matchweek 24
Saturday, January 20th
Bournemouth at West Ham
West Brom at Everton
Manchester United at Burnley
Huddersfield at Stoke City
Watford at Leicester City
Crystal Palace at Arsenal
Newcastle at Manchester City

Of all the fixtures above, Manchester City at home is clearly the stand-out. With this in mind I have purposely avoided City's heavy hitters: Aguero, Sterling, DeBruyne, Sane etc. I think we all know that these fellows are prime real estate for the visit of Newcastle.

So with City out of the way, let's see what other trends we can take advantage of in this weeks' slate.

Time to gegenpress.

Wilson to Increase Tally Against West Ham

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Bournemouth and West Ham played out a 3-3 thriller at (Bournemouth's ground), and four out of the last five encounters between these sides have delivered at least four goals, so we should be in for a goal-fest on Saturday.

With West Ham at home, the obvious picks would be Marko Arnautovic or Manuel Lanzini, both coming into the game with impressive stats, but siding with Bournemouth's Callum Wilson (FanDuel price of $8,000) might be the better (and cheaper) option.

Wilson scored the last-minute equalizer in the reverse fixture over the holidays and has now scored four goals in his last three starts against the Hammers. Not only that, but Wilson has averaged 21.55 points in his last five games for Bournemouth: not a bad return for an outlay of $8,000.

With West Ham having conceded eight goals in their last five games, we can expect Bournemouth to score, and hopefully, Wilson will be your man.

Ramsey to Help Get Arsenal Back on Track

With all the speculation surrounding Alexis Sanchez' imminent transfer to Manchester United, Arsenal will be short of goals going into their home fixture against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Alexandre Lacazette hasn't scored since the 1-3 home defeat to Manchester United on December 2nd and looks pretty jaded to be honest. Olivier Giroud is still injured. Granit Xhaka is not a regular goalscorer. Neither are Alex Iwobi or Jack Wilshire for that matter. So where are the goals going to come from? Hector Bellerin?

Arsenal are a sizable eight points off top four, so a win against Palace on Saturday is almost critical at this stage, and Ramsey ($8,500) has the pedigree to add a much-needed goal threat for the Gunners. The Welshman has averaged 26.1 FanDuel points over his last five home games.

Picking Ramsey is no doubt a risk because he may not even make it onto Arsene's Wenger's team sheet come Saturday, but his goal threat in a must-win game can't be ignored. Keep an eye on the team sheets!

Freedom of the Park for Danilo

Well I hope you have all recovered from the high octane thrill ride that was Manchester City's 4-3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last Sunday. What was incredible about that game was that City didn't necessarily play badly but were instead hustled and harried out of the game by Liverpool's high press.

Unfortunately, Newcastle (nor many other sides, mind you) are equipped to do what Liverpool did, so expect a very long afternoon for Rafa Benitez' side on Saturday. The usual suspects have to be seriously considered. Sergio Aguero has six goals in his last two home appearances against Newcastle, Raheem Sterling scored against Newcastle last time out and has averaged 35.25 in his last five home games, and Kevin DeBruyne -- along with Leroy Sane -- are always good punts when City are at home.

City's regular left back, Fabian Delph, limped off against Liverpool last Sunday, so expect Danilo ($5,500) to start. The Brazilian has some impressive FanDuel stats when he has been called upon this season, averaging 18.85 points from his last five starts -- including 27.75 in the reverse fixture in 2017.

Expect Newcastle to hang on for their lives against a City side that will desperately want to get back to winning ways after losing their unbeaten record against Liverpool. At $5,500, Danilo might be just what you are looking for.
