Premier League Betting Guide for Matchweek 24

Tottenham have experienced the injury bug of late and it may prevent them from earning 3 points against Watford on Wednesday.

Matchweek 24 provides some midweek fixtures, so look out for squad rotation before betting on this slate of games.

Using Soccer odd as the source for lines, let's take a look at some bets you should zero in on this week.

Please note that lines are subject to change after this article is published, which impacts betting advice. All betting lines were taken from Paddy Power, and you can check here to see their most updated numbers.

Huddersfield vs Everton

Everton to Win -105

Everton are having a somewhat disappointing season so far, as they sit in 11th place in the table, but they are still a vastly superior side than the floundering Huddersfield. The Toffees are 19 points ahead of Huddersfield in the standings and they are 28 goals better on goal difference.

Huddersfield are currently last in the EPL table and are 0-1-9 in their last 10 league matches, with their only result coming in the form of a 0-0 tie against 18th place Cardiff. This Huddersfield team is clearly outmatched at this level and a bet for an Everton win here is more of a bet against Huddersfield than it is a bet for the Toffees.

Southampton vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace +1 (no push) -160

Southampton have won only 5 out of 23 league games (21.7%) this season and they have surprisingly won an even smaller percentage of their home games (18.2%). Their overall win rate increases against bottom-half teams (30%) but even so, this points us towards betting on Palace.

Palace are a decent road team at 4-1-7 compared to the Saints sub-par 2-5-4 home record. Palace should be able to earn at least one point in this midweek matchup.

Tottenham vs Watford

Watford +1 (no push) +115

Spurs have struggled their past few games, having been eliminated from both the League Cup and FA Cup over this past week. Of course, the cups are not always the best way to measure how a team will perform in the league, but even in Tottenham’s last league game they needed a last second goal to defeat 19th place Fulham.

The injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Ali are major blows for Tottenham and star midfielder Son Heung-Min recently proclaimed himself as “physically empty” after finishing his international duty with South Korea. Dele, Kane and Min all rank in Tottenham’s top 5 outfield players (min 5 games) according to WhoScored.com’s player rankings, so the team is extremely compromised as currently constructed.

Watford are in 7th place and are 4-4-3 away from home, so they were never going to be an easy matchup regardless of the injuries, but they will have an even better chance to earn points against a wounded Spurs side
