Huddersfield continued its downward spiral over the weekend as they were thoroughly dominated by 15th-place Newcastle (outshot 29-3 and lost 2-0).

Huddersfield are now 0W-1D-13L in their last 14 league games, including an 0-0-7 record at home during that time period.

On the other side, Wolves are in eighth place and have earned 11 points from their last five matches. Wolves are clearly the superior side in this matchup, and they should be able to dispose of a wounded Huddersfield group.

Cardiff vs Everton

Cardiff to win +250

Cardiff are +250 in this matchup, giving them an implied 28.57% chance to win. However, Cardiff have won five out of their first 14 home games (35.71%), including wins over Bournemouth and Wolves, both of whom are ahead of Everton in the standings.

Everton have lost seven out of 13 away games this season (53.85%), including loses to Brighton and Southampton, teams that currently sandwich Cardiff in the standings.

At the very least, Cardiff seems to have a better chance to win this match than their 28.57% implied odds would indicate, so betting on them to win isn't a bad idea.

Southampton vs Fulham

Southampton are only one place ahead of Fulham in the league table, but they are 17 goals ahead in goal difference and are four spots higher in WhoScored.com’s team ratings. There is definitely a larger gap between these two sides than the table would have you believe.

Fulham have been particularly terrible away from home this season, with a league worst (yes, even worse than Huddersfield) 0-2-12 record on the road. Southampton have proven to be the better side, and when you combine that with Fulham’s ineptitude away from home, it points towards a Southampton victory on Wednesday.
