FanDuel Premier League Trends to Know for Matchweek 6

Norwich City is riding a high after beating Manchester City, and the Canaries have another winnable match this week on a main slate that's lacking top sides.

The next Premier League main slate hits FanDuel at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday and features four matches, the fewest number of matches on a main slate so far this season. This comes after the start of the Champions League, which moves more matches to Sunday.

The slate features two of the three newly promoted sides and two teams currently in the relegation zone.

Matchweek 6
Saturday, September 21st
Watford at Manchester City
Sheffield United at Everton
Norwich at Burnley
Brighton at Newcastle

Let's look at the teams and players that are rising and falling this week.

Hot

Team: Norwich

Whenever a newly promoted side beats the defending champion, it is worth mentioning. Norwich handed Manchester City their first loss of the season by capitalizing on City's mistakes and converting their chances in front last weekend. The Canaries lead the promoted sides with six points and play a Burnley side that is one point behind them.

Norwich have scored the fifth-most goals in the league despite playing City, Liverpool and Chelsea already. Teemu Pukki ($19) is one behind the league leader in goals, and three Norwich players average more than 20 FanDuel points per game. Burnley have just one player above that threshold. Burnley have scored no more than one goal in their last four matches after exploding for three in the opening week.

Player: Oliver Norwood, Sheffield United ($14)

Norwood is coming off his best game of the season, although he has scored at least 10 FanDuel points in every match. The match against Southampton last week was his best FanDuel output of the season, as well. Norwood created four chances and drew two fouls. He also contributed four tackles, three clearances, and two interceptions. Norwood has 13 chances created on the season. .

He is Sheffield's
top-rated player, per WhoScored, and has the most average passes on the team by far. As a result, Norwood also leads the team in key passes with 2.6 per match

Cold

Team: Sheffield United

Despite Norwood's form, there is some trouble with the club from South Yorkshire. There are not many early season success stories on the slate, but Sheffield is going through a rough patch as they adjust to life in the Premier League. They were shut out against Southampton after a decent showing versus Chelsea. They are without a win since the second week of the season. Outside of Norwood, the defenders have been the most consistent players in terms of FanDuel scoring. Unfortunately Norwood is the only player averaging at least 15 FanDuel points. Forward Billy Sharp ($10) is suspended for the match this weekend, which adds to Everton being a big favorite.

Player: Glenn Murray, Brighton ($13)

Murray seemed to score whenever Brighton needed a big goal last year. This year he has found himself on the bench and being played out of position. He averages less than four FanDuel points per match. He scored in the Carabao Cup but has yet to find the net in the Premier League. He was played on the left side of an attacking front three in the last Brighton match and seemed out of sorts.

Murray is averaging just one shot per game in the Premier League, which would be his lowest total since the 2013-14 season with Crystal Palace. Murray has a combined 25 goals in the past two seasons in the Premier League with Brighton, but the amount of attackers on the roster has limited his playing time. It is hard to tell if the 35-year-old forward is living his final days with Brighton or if the coaches are having trouble balancing their roster. Regardless, Murray has not been a factor this season.
