League of Legends Daily Fantasy Helper: LCS, Sunday 3/29/20
With the sports world on pause right now, we turn to esports as a place for some fantasy action, and that leads us to the North American League Championship Series -- better known as the LCS.
They too were on a break but are back and set to continue with their regular season. Now, you might be asking, what is League of Legends? What is League of Legends DFS? If you need more info, look to numberFire's introduction piece to get a better understanding. That will give you an overview of the game itself, the position you need to pick in DFS, and some tips about stacking. At the end of the day, this is DFS, and you can learn while the other sports are on hold.
LCS Overview
The LCS has 10 teams, and we will see them all in action on Saturday, for a total of five matchups. We want to be targeting higher scoring players for the Star spot (1.5x points) and look to stack some teams in the other five positions. Star
PowerOfEvil, FlyQuest ($8,600)
PowerOfEvil and FlyQuest are fighting for playoff seeding right now and we should look to trust one of the most consistent players in the league this split. POE comes in with the most kills among mid laners, the fourth-highest Kill/Death/Assist Ratio (KDA), the fourth-highest Kill Participation (KP%), and the fourth-best Creep Score (CS) differential at 10 mins. Over his last 10 games, he has posted five kills or more five times, with two or fewer deaths eight times. Plenty of upside and he isn't too expensive.
Top
Broken Blade, Team SoloMid ($9,000)
Broken Blade is the most expensive top laner on the slate and if you want to stack up Team SoloMid, he could be a good option. Top can be a player who has a wider ranger of outcomes but Broken Blade has found a way to be one of the highest floor players this season. he has the most kills among top laners, the second-most assists, the second-highest KDA, and the third-highest KP%. He will be laning against Huni from Dignitas, who comes in with the second-worst KDA, the third-most deaths, and the second-fewest kills among top laners. Broken Blade is simply the better player in this matchup.
Jungle
Meteos, 100 Thieves ($8,400)
The veteran jungler has looked strong as of late and comes in at a very solid price point this week and is facing CLG, the worst team in the league. 100 Thieves are a playoff team and CLG are not, that's the simple way to put it. This is a lopsided matchup and it should play into the hands of Meteos, who has been playing well as of late. In his last seven matches, he has posted seven assists or more four times. He does have a decent amount of deaths in this time, but the upside is there with this matchup today.
Mid
Jiizuke, Evil Geniuses ($9,400)
With his two games last weekend, Jiizuke has posted four kills or more six times in his last 10 games -- not including yesterday's match. He is the third-most expensive mid-laner today and that should give you a clear picture of what you are paying up for. He puts up big fantasy points every week and having him in your lineups should give you a solid floor, along with some upside. He is tied for the second-most kills among mid laners this split and is up against Eika -- from Immortals -- who has the third-fewest kills. Jiizuke should be able to pick up some solo kills in this matchup.
ADC
WildTurtle, FlyQuest ($9,600)
The Golden Guardians come in with the second-most deaths as a team for the Spring Split and thus, a team that offers plenty of fantasy points for the opposing team. That opposing team is FlyQuest today and specifically, WildTurtle at ADC. Are there better ADCs on the slate compared to WildTurtle? Yes. That is very clear but for his price, you are getting a super strong floor of points. He has posted 18 fantasy points or more in seven of his last 10 games, with three of them being at 27 points or higher.
Support
Stunt, 100 Thieves ($7,000)
This is the second 100 Thieves player to be mentioned and that should be a sign. As noted above, they are playing CLG -- who are the worst team in the league and have the most overall deaths. They are a treasure chest filled with fantasy points since they are so undisciplined. As a support player, we are looking towards Stunt to pick up plenty of assists -- something he has been doing a lot lately. He has five or more assists five times in his last 10 matches, where three of them are at 10 or more.
Team
Evil Geniuses ($7,500)
Evil Geniuses have very strong macro play around the map and come in with some of the best team stats you can find. They have the second-highest First Blood Rate, the third-highest First Tower Rate, the second-highest First Dragon Rate, and the second-highest Baron control rate, according to OraclesElixir. You get the picture? They play around objectives and often grab most of them to help maximize their fantasy points.
