HORSE RACING

Remington Park Horse Racing Picks for Thursday 5/14/20

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 7 p.m. EST tonight, we have 11 races at Remington Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

Dubdeuce, Race 1

FD Racing Odds: 9/2

In the night's opener, our models have Dubdeuce (9/2) winning.

The gelding turned in a clunker in his last race (ninth), but he'd been in solid form prior to that one, registering two seconds, a third and a fifth, according to Timeform. He was less than one length behind the winner in all four of those races.

DailyHorsePicks.com's speed and pace ratings paint Dubdeuce in a favorable light as he's second in pace and first in speed.

We have Cartel King (3/1), the favorite, getting third, with Aj Quick Chick (4/1) taking second, so it's a good race to fade the favorite, according to our projections.

Cm A Dandy La Jolla, Race 3

FD Racing Odds: 15/1

For being at 15/1, Cm A Dandy La Jolla sure checks quite a few boxes in Race 3.

For starters, our projections have the gelding getting second, with Cf High Rate (9/2) the winner. But it's easier to get behind Cm A Dandy La Jolla when you dig into the numbers.

DailyHorsePicks gives him the best pace and speed ratings in the field. On top of that, outside of a 10th-place finish last time out, the gelding has been in good form, going third, fifth, first, and fourth over his previous four events. While he raced just three times in 2019, per Equibase, he finished in the top three in two of the three events, winning once.

Cm A Dandy La Jolla is awfully appealing at these odds, and there's a chance for a big profit here depending on how you want to bet it.

Js Gitter Dun Chicken, Race 5

FD Racing Odds: 3/1

Js Gitter Dun Chicken (3/1) looks like the top horse in Race 5. As such, the gelding is listed as the favorite.

DailyHorsePicks rates him with the top speed in the field, and he's been in the top three in six of 11 career races, though just one has been a win. The recent form is there (3-3-3-2), and the last two races were at Remington.

This race is scheduled for 300 yards, which is a step down for Js Gitter Dun Chicken. He's run 350 or 400 yards in four of his past five events.

It's worth noting that both our projections and DailyHorsePicks have Js Gitter Dun Chicken and Qspaintingupthecartel (10/1) taking first and second, respectively, so an exact bet makes sense with those two.
