Laurel Park Horse Racing Picks for Friday 6/26/20

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:40 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Laurel Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's speed figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Dreaming Of Carats, Race 6 (3:33 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 4/1

This could be a really tight Race 6, with nearly all the competitors showing speed figures in the 70s. But of the group, numberFire's model likes favorite Dreaming Of Carats to get the win.

Although the gelding finished just fifth in his racing debut (February), he produced a solid 78 speed figure, which is on the higher end of this field. Veteran jockey Julian Pimentel should give him a nice boost, too, as Pimentel owns a 23% win rate and 45% top-three rate in 2020 and has recorded similar marks the past few years.

Karan's Notion (5/1) could also be a factor after posting a 77 speed figure in his own debut earlier this month. numberFire picks him to finish third.

Can't Pass It Up, Race 7 (4:06 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 4/1

Can't Pass It Up is coming off a disappointing seventh-place showing three weeks ago, but an otherwise strong resume makes him numberFire's top choice in Race 7.

Prior to that dud, Can't Pass It Up tallied a career-best 102 speed figure in March and has steadily been putting up 90s dating back to this past November. Over that span, he's finished top-three in five of seven contests, with two wins and three runner-ups.

The gelding also benefits from stellar jockey Trevor McCarthy, who's finishing in the top three over half the time this year -- something he's done throughout his career.

Plot The Dots (3/1) and Tap The Mark (7/2) have also shown nice upside and will be contenders. numberFire has them going second and third, respectively.

Theodora B., Race 9 (5:10 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 7/5

Several horses in this field have hit triple-digit speed figures, but Theodora B. has done so in three straight races, so there's a reason she's the favorite to win Race 9.

numberFire's model picks Theodora B. to crack the top three, and she could easily come away victorious despite a seven-month hiatus. That's because she'll have Daniel Centeno guiding her, and he's doing his usual thing in 2020, winning at a 22% clip and finishing top-three 55% of the time. Theodora B. is also the top choice on Daily Horse Picks as they give her the best odds of victory.

Summering (5/2) is coming off back-to-back triple-digit speed figures over the last few months and is numberFire's top choice. Ionic (7/2) is returning from a longer layoff but has the aforementioned Trevor McCarthy on board. numberFire picks her to finish runner-up.

For a longer shot, Not In Jeopardy (6/1) had a modest May outing but did hit a massive 111 speed figure this past November.
