Parx Racing Horse Racing Picks for Monday 6/29/20

Parx Racing has a nine-race slate on Tuesday afternoon. Which horses should you place a wager on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:55 p.m. EST, we have nine races at Parx Racing. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's speed figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Dreamer's Moon, Race 2 (1:22 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 9/5

Dance and Dance (5/2) and Dreamer's Moon are numberFire's picks to finish first and second, respectively, and I expect one of these two will come away victorious.

But if forced to choose, I'm siding with Dreamer's Moon, who has shown a slightly higher ceiling in her speed figures. Inconsistency has been what's plagued her, which is evident both from her figures (86-66-93-56-89) and results (1-4-1-6-3) over her last five. But she should be able to take this race if she's in top form, and jockey Jeremy Laprida could be an asset as one of the top riders in Chile last year.

Dance and Dance has been somewhat inconsistent in terms of speed figures lately, too, but she's finished top-two in three straight races while posting figures in the mid-80s twice. Marvella (7/2) and Dazzle Me (12/1) look like the top options to finish third.

Girardi, Race 6 (3:10 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 8/5 (coupled)

Girardi and Arima (7/2) are numberFire's choices to finish top-two, with the edge going to Girardi, who will be tough to beat with jockey Frankie Pennington. The veteran jockey was the top earner at Parx Racing in 2019 and is the second-highest earner so far this year. Overall, he's picking up wins at a 20% clip and finishing top-three 52% of the time in 2020.

As for Girardi, she's finished third in two of her three career outings, notching favorable speed figures compared to the field (66, 63, 70). Pennington should be able to bring out the best in her, and it can't hurt that the filly is a coupled entry with Pharoah's Daughter.

Amira posted a career-best 77 speed figure in March and has hit at least the mid-60s in each of the last four, so she will certainly be a contender, as well. She's coupled with Brooklyn Heights.

For a longer shot, Keepmyeyeontheboys (8/1) is worth a look after producing a career-high 72 speed figure in February.

Occhi d'Oro, Race 8 (4:04 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 9/2

Race 8 favorite Court Sky was scratched this morning, leaving Bellarmine Hall (5/2) and Occhi d'Oro as the top contenders in numberFire's model.

I give the nod to Occhi d'Oro with Mychel J. Sanchez on board, as Sanchez is the top earner at Parx Racing this year and was second behind Pennington in 2019. He owns a 22% win rate and 49% top-three rate in 2020.

Occhi d'Oro has been recording consistent speed figures this year (85, 78, 84, 81), earning him a pair of third-place results.

Bellarmine Hall will certainly be a factor, though, and also has a standout jockey in Ruben Silvera. The gelding has exceeded an 80 speed figure in two of the last four, earning a win and runner-up finish.
