HORSE RACING

Parx Racing Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday 6/30/20

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:55 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Parx Racing. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's speed figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Elizabeth T, Race 7 (3:37 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/2

numberFire's model picks Shesasuperfreak (9/2) to take Race 7, but I'm siding with odds favorite Elizabeth T, who's coming off career-high 77 speed figure in March that compares quite favorably to this field. Shesasuperfreak hasn't hit a 70 speed figure in any of her three 2020 outings, last doing so this past December (74).

Elizabeth T's jockey Jeremy Laprida hasn't wasted any time making an impression in the United States, too, already notching a win and third-place finish in three attempts. Despite being short on experience here, keep in mind that he was considered perhaps the best jockey in Chile last year.

numberFire likes Artemis Rising (5/1) to finish top-three, and it's of little surprise when jockey Mychel J. Sanchez is involved. Sanchez is the top earner at Parx Racing this year and is rattling off wins at a 23% clip.

Bella G (8/1) is intriguing as a longer shot. She's been inconsistent but has recorded speed figures in the 70s twice in four 2020 appearances.

Tara's Talent, Race 8 (4:04 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 7/2

And speaking of Mychel J. Sanchez, he'll once again be a factor in Race 8, as Tara's Talent is numberFire's top choice. She's coming off a win just eight days ago and looked impressive with an 84 speed figure that few in this field can compete with.

Jaffle (3/1) and Key Light (6/1) are two who might be able to keep up with Tara's Talent, but both come with concerns.

Jaffle registered a fantastic 89 speed figure in her last appearance -- except it came way back in 2018. Still, she's looked the part in June workouts and hasn't finished below second in three career races. Jockey Angel R. Rodriguez will also be a plus.

Key Light is coming off a disappointing fifth-place result in her lone 2020 outing, tallying a modest 60 speed figure. However, she was rocking figures in the 80s in three straight to end 2019, so she has the potential. numberFire has her finishing runner-up behind Tara's Talent.

Semi Excited, Race 9 (4:31 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/2

There's plenty to be excited about when it comes to Race 9 favorite Semi Excited, who's posted speed figures of 90 or better in five straight. That consistent form has led to strong results (3-3-1-1-3), and the gelding topped it off with a career-high 105 speed figure in February. Jockey Angel Castillo is sixth in earnings at Parx Racing this year.

D T Goodie (3/1) and Admiral Abe (5/1) have shown triple-digit figures in recent outings, too, so they should also be on your shortlist.

D T Goodie is making his 2020 debut, but he ended last year on a high note (3-2-2-1) and had the figures to back it up. He tied a career-best 102 in October. The aforementioned Angel R. Rodriguez should help, too. numberFire's model likes Semi Excited and D T Goodie to finish top-two.

Meanwhile, Admiral Abe hasn't shown top-level speed for as long as those two, but it's hard to ignore back-to-back outings of 104 and 105 speed figures.
