HORSE RACING

Gulfstream Park Horse Racing Picks for Wednesday 7/1/20

Gulfstream Park has 10 races on Wednesday afternoon. Which horses should you wager on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 12:00 p.m. EST, we have 10 races at Gulfstream Park. Using our projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's speed figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions)

Uyuni, Race 2 (12:30 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/1

Race 2 is a tough one to judge, as it is entirely made up of fillies either making their first or second appearances. But numberFire's model digs Uyuni in her debut, who has accomplished parents in Uncle Mo and Pachattack. Both parents regularly hit triple-digit speed figures in their respective careers. Uyuni has loads of experience on her side between jockey Eduardo O. Nunez and trainer Wesley A. Ward.

Tequa (5/1) is also intriguing as one of the few competitors with a race under her belt. She finished runner-up earlier this month while posting a solid 78 speed figure. For comparison, odds favorite Gem Thief (8/5) only registered a 44 in her lone appearance (fourth place). numberFire's model likes Tequa to come in second once again.

Fuddled (Ire), Race 4 (1:34 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 8/5

Fuddled looks like the clear choice in Race 4, recording speed figures of 80 and 85 in her first two career races. None of her fellow competitors have cracked 80 before. Jockey Emisael Jaramillo is one of the top earners at Gulfstream, ranking second over the past three months. numberFire projects a victory for Fuddled today.

I'm A G Six, Race 6 (2:37 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 7/2

I'm A G Six has been on quite the run since the end of last year, finishing top-three in six straight with four wins. Best of all, he's hit another gear lately, producing triple-digit speed figures in three of his last four races, all coming in 2020. Despite some tough competition, we have to like his chances of keeping up the momentum here.

Overdeliver (9/5) and Squeezadios (2/1) come in at shorter odds and will also be in the mix. Overdeliver put up a career-best 107 speed figure in May, while Squeezadios has consistently been putting up figures of 90 or better in seven straight, hitting triple-digits twice. Both have high-earning jockeys at Gulfstream, and numberFire likes them to finish top-two.
