Delaware Park Horse Racing Picks for Monday 7/13/20

Delaware Park has nine races slated for today. Which horses should you bet on at FanDuel Racing?

With most of the sports world on pause, it's a great time to dive into horse racing, and FanDuel Racing gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 1:15 p.m. EST today, we have nine races at Delaware Park. Using our projections as a guide, here's a look at some of the best bets.

As always, keep an eye out for scratches and changes.

(I will be referencing Equibase's Speed Figure, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions)

Enjoy the Music, Race 3 (2:15 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/2

This loaded Maiden Special Weight features 13 runners going 1 1/16 miles for a purse of $39K. Our model likes current betting favorite Enjoy the Music, and it's hard to find fault with that pick. The colt has posted 2-4-3 finishes in his last three, averaging a figure of 82.3 over those outings. He finishes as the runner-up among similar competition three weeks ago, achieving a figure of 84 in that effort. His workouts since mid-May have been top-notch. Enjoy the Music will be jockeyed by Daniel Centeno, who has won at least 20% of his races in five straight seasons.

Not to be overlooked is Empty Holster (8/1). Coming off a second-place finish with a figure of 84 two months ago, the gelding's form has been nothing short of impressive since. Commissioner G (3/1) should be well in the mix with jockey Carol Cedeno, who is first in purse at Delaware Park in 2020. The colt's form is where it needs to be. With Trevor McCarthy in the saddle, Regal Speaker (6/1) is worthy of consideration.

Yes This Time, Race 4 (2:45 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 6/1

This Maiden Special Weight could see some value with eight horses making their racing debuts. numberFire's models like Yes This Time, trained by Michael Stidham, whose horses have won at least 17% of their outings in every year since 2009. Jockey Angel Suarez is a plus booking. Suarez is third in purse at this track in 2020. Yes This Time has had a number of impressive workouts over the last two months.

With Carol Cedeno, U. S. Steel (8/1) needs to be considered on these figures. Nobody Knew (10/1) has the longest odds, but the colt's last three outings at Laurel Park were fantastic. Alwaysinahurry (8/1) could be thereabouts. Coupled horses Omati and Wicked Finn (2/1) are the current betting favorites.

Hyperlapse (IRE), Race 7 (4:15 PM)

FD Racing Odds: 5/1

The event of the day is this Allowance race going 1 3/8 miles. At these terms, I really like Hyperlapse (IRE), despite not currently being projected for a top-three finish by numberFire's algorithm. The gelding has won two of his three races dating back to 2019. He'll be ridden by Trevor McCarthy for his 2020 debut. McCarthy has won 26% of his 227 efforts at Delaware Park since 2019.

Felix the Fox (6/1) has had speed figures of 90-plus in three of his last five, including a win at Tampa Bay Downs six weeks ago, where he reached a figure of 92. Market Mover (15/1) is coming off career-best efforts in consecutive races and could be well in the mix if he keeps that pace up. It's Fate (20/1) reached a figure of 95 among tougher competition a month ago at this track. He could place well. Kid Mercury (4/1) is another one to consider.
