Indiana Grand Horse Racing Picks for Tuesday 10/6/20

Indiana Grand has nine Thoroughbred races Tuesday. Which horses should you bet on at TVG?

It's a great time to dive into horse racing, and TVG gives you the chance to do just that.

Starting at 2:20 p.m. EST, we have nine Thoroughbred races at Indiana Grand. Using TVG’s projections as a guide, here are some of the best bets.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and watch for any weather issues that affect the racetrack.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races -- adjusted for track, distances, and conditions.)

Lode of Blarney and February Son, Race 4

TVG Odds: 8/1 and 4/1

Race 4 is a Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-olds going 1-mile on the Turf. The favorite T D Dance (2/1) breaks from the outside No. 11 post for EPO trainer Brad Cox with leading jockey Fernando De La Cruz aboard. Guaranteed Tip Sheet projects T D Dance to win but gives February Son (4/1) and longshot Texas Gano (12/1) a good chance.

These 2-year-olds can be tough to track and unpredictable on first offering, and T D Dance makes his debut at a route distance with some solid training on his work tab.

February Son has race twice over this turf track and improved his speed figure and placing when finishing second at 1 1/16 miles a month ago with a strong off-the-pace finish. Lode of Blarney (8/1) also debuts and seems to offer some value as a son of Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator.

Jets a Ginnin and Miss Pinkerton, Race 6

TVG Odds: 7/5 and 10/1

Race 6 is an Allowance race for fillies and mares sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs. Guaranteed Tip Sheet (GTS) has a best bet on the favorite Jets a Ginnin (7/5) breaking from the rail.

Jets a Ginnin is 3-for-3 this year and has 7 wins in 12 career starts, with GTS noting that Jets a Ginnin has finished in-the-money in 67% of his starts at this distance. Her last race two months ago was an easy 5-length front-running win with an 83 speed figure at Fairmount Park. Added race insights and handicapping information on Jets a Ginnin is at TVG, which noted that she won over this track 17 months ago with a 90 speed figure as a 1/9 favorite. There's no value if she closes at odds of less than even money but is worth adding to the Late Pick 4.

The track's top jockey with 82 wins since June 15 is Deshawn Parker, and he rides Miss Pinkerton (10/1). She comes in from racing at Kentucky tracks with an 81 speed figure when finishing second in August. A strong off-the-pace closing kick provides intrigue at longer odds.

Kylies Charm (10/1) is showing steady improvement in speed figures in her 3-year-old campaign, and she won her last race by 5-lengths three weeks ago at Belterra with a 75 ESF.

Magine and Tee Em Eye, Race 7

TVG Odds: 4/1 and 4/1

Race 7 is an Allowance race and another short 5-furlong sprint for fillies and mares. Another best bet by Guaranteed Tip Sheet is on Magine (4/1) for trainer Tom Amoss. Magine has won 3-of-5 starts this year, including five weeks ago when hitting a 94 speed figure over this track off a short layoff.

Magine is an off-the-pace runner who will try to track down the favorite and pace setter Jeannies Beepbeep (9/5). She has finished second in three straight starts over the track with a best 99 speed figure.

The original favorite, A Thousand Reasons (7/5), has been scratched. Tee Em Eye (4/1) comes in from Canterbury with three straight in-the-money finishes, including a win with a 95 speed figure. Leading jockey Fernando De La Cruz rides Tee Em Eye, who has three wins and three runner-up finishes in eight starts this year.
