FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Wednesday 9/12/18

Tonight, Khris Davis will look to add to his league-leading home run tally in a juicy matchup against Andrew Cashner. Who else could have a big night on Wednesday?

Some big names top Wednesday's pitching list, but the main slate actually leans more heavily on the bats tonight. Coors Field is a featured piece as always, but with strong arms in Patrick Corbin and Jon Gray taking the mound, it isn't a must-play spot, so you can also opt for the Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees.

Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Aaron Nola ($11,200 on FanDuel): Luis Severino ($10,000) and Stephen Strasburg ($9,500) are certainly viable, but given the inconsistent play of Severino and velocity concerns of Strasburg, Aaron Nola emerges as arguably the safest hurler in the upper tier. Nola's matchup against the Washington Nationals is neutral, at best, as the Nats hold a 100 wRC+ against righties. But Nola is enjoying an excellent 2018 campaign, with a 3.41 SIERA, 26.6% strikeout rate, 6.8% walk rate, and 25.2% hard-hit rate allowed. Even better, he's really ramped up the punchouts over his last five starts (35.9% rate), and two of those outings came against these same Nationals. With Washington showing the lowest implied total (3.31) on the board, he's a great choice in cash games. For tournaments, Patrick Corbin ($9,100) actually owns both the best SIERA (2.86) and strikeout rate (31.3%) of the slate, so he's worth a shot as a contrarian play despite pitching at Coors.
