3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for Thursday 7/29/21
Stacks are the backbone of cashing daily fantasy baseball lineups. Correlation drives upside, creating the potential to place high or even win GPPs when your selected stacks explode offensively.
This column will do the digging and the dirty work to determine which stacks are worth rostering each day. Scoring upside will fuel the stacks that get the nod. Sometimes that will lead to chalky selections, but contrarian stacks will get their fair share of love too.

Let's take a look at the top stacks on today's main slate.
Toronto Blue Jays
On tonight's five-game slate, the Toronto Blue Jays are a near-lock to be the chalkiest stack. And I'm not going to dissuade you from going here. According to FanGraphs, they rank tied for sixth in weighted runs created plus (107 wRC+) and fifth in isolated power (.180 ISO) against southpaws.
Opposing pitcher, lefty Eduardo Rodriguez, appears ill-equipped to tame Toronto's offense in his hitter-friendly home park, Fenway Park. E-Rod has coughed up a .331 weighted on-base average (wOBA) to right-handed hitters this year. Further elaborating on the hitting conditions tonight, according to the park factors at FantasyPros, Fenway Park has the third-highest mark for runs and enhances doubles at the highest rate.
There's merit to stacking throughout the entirety of Toronto's lineup. Still, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($4,500) and Teoscar Hernandez ($3,500) are my two favorite options. Guerrero's creamed lefties for a .422 on-base percentage, .215 ISO, and 149 wRC+ this year. Hernandez has been even more lethal to lefties, recording a .372 on-base percentage, .356 ISO, and 184 wRC+.
Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers aren't a club I've suggested stacking often this year. Short slates sometimes lead to squinting to justify stacking offenses that slip through the cracks on larger ones, though. That's the case tonight.
Chad Kuhl has been in a groove lately. Over his last five starts lasting 26 and 2/3 innings, he's tallied a 2.70 ERA. Despite the impressive ERA, he hasn't been bulletproof, and his 4.43 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) points to forthcoming regression. Further, Kuhl's not particularly tough on lefties or righties, coughing up a .333 wOBA to the former and a .329 wOBA to the latter.
The projected one through three hitters in Milwaukee's lineup is where my attention lies. Kolten Wong ($3,000) is an above-average hitter against righties whose value gets a boost from sitting atop the order. Omar Narvaez's ($2,400) 134 wRC+ against righties this year is a steal at his modest salary.
However, Willy Adames ($2,900) is easily my favorite option. In 181 plate appearances against righties since the Brewers acquired him in a trade, he's belted 10 homers with a .387 on-base percentage, .258 ISO, and 153 wRC+.
Detroit Tigers
The Detroit Tigers are yet another offense I've rarely stacked or touted stacking this year. As is the case with the aforementioned Brewers, my stacking interest is narrowly focused against lefty Alexander Wells.
Wells has pitched only 10.1 innings in the Majors, all this year. Coupled with a ho-hum 4.19 ERA in 43 innings at the Triple-A level this year, he appears to provide the Tigers a favorable matchup.
As for who I'm interested in, Jonathan Schoop ($3,500) makes the cut if he returns to the lineup after being scratched yesterday. Jeimer Candelario ($2,700) is a moderately interesting option, with a 115 wRC+ against lefties this year.
Having said that, Robbie Grossman ($3,100) and Eric Haase ($3,200) are the top picks, easily. Grossman has a .376 on-base percentage, .223 ISO, and 135 wRC+ against southpaws in 2021. Haase is even better, recording a .342 on-base percentage, .408 ISO, and 188 wRC+ against them.
