Red Sox's Steven Wright suspended 80 games for performance enhancer

Boston Red Sox reliever Steven Wright has been suspended 80 games for violating Major League Baseball's joint drug prevention and treatment program.

What It Means:

Wright tested positive for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2, commonly known as GHRP-2, a performance-enhancing substance. He was also suspended for 15 games in 2018 as a result of a domestic violence incident.

The 34-year-old right-hander recorded a 2.68 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 42 strikeouts and 26 walks across 52 2/3 innings over 20 appearances (four starts) last season.
