Oliver Perez's deal with Nationals is official
The Washington Nationals signed relief pitcher Oliver Perez to a two-year, $7 million contract.
The deal was reported a week ago and is now official after Perez passed a physical. He should form a nice one-two punch with Felipe Rivero from the left side in the Nationals' bullpen.
Perez held a 4.14 ERA and 3.30 FIP last season. He racked up 11.20 strikeouts per nine innings and 3.29 walks per nine frames over 41 innings in 2015, limiting left-handed batters to a .185/.235/.283 slash line.
