Tampa Bay options Christian Arroyo to Triple-A
The Tampa Bay Rays optioned infielder Christian Arroyo to Triple-A Durham.
Arroyo went 2-for-3 with a single on Sunday, but he was sent down to open up room for reliever Hunter Wood on the Rays' 25-man roster. Daniel Robertson is replacing Arroyo at third base for Monday's series opener against the Chicago White Sox.
The 23-year-old former top prospect owns a career .219/.276/.332 slash with 4 home runs and 22 RBI over 203 plate appearances.
