Rangers remove Jose Leclerc at closer temporarily
Texas Rangers pitcher Jose Leclerc will be removed from the team's closer role "for the time being," manager Chris Woodward said Wednesday.
What It Means:
Shawn Kelley and Chris Martin are the candidates to fill the role. LeClerc has an 8.44 ERA over 10 2/3 innings this season with 14 strikeouts and 9 walks.
Our models project LeClerc to post a 3.21 ERA and 1.15 WHIP over 47 2/3 remaining innings this season.
