Trevor Williams (side) to return for Pirates Wednesday
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams (side) is scheduled to return to the rotation Wednesday versus the Detroit Tigers.
Williams has been sidelined since straining his right side a month ago. He allowed 2 runs over three innings in his one rehab start last Thursday at Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 27-year-old right-hander was 2-1 in nine starts for the Pirates before landing on the injured list. He posted a 3.33 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 42 strikeouts and 10 walks over 54 innings.
