Chris Archer (hip) may miss next turn for Pirates
Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Chris Archer (hip) might miss his next scheduled start against the Chicago Cubs, general manager Neal Huntington said.
"With the All-Star break, there’s a chance to get him a good, long downtime, if necessary — 10 days to two weeks," Huntington explained. Archer was lifted from Friday's start against the Milwaukee Brewers due to left hip discomfort after throwing 67 pitches. Dario Agrazal was mentioned as a possible replacement for Wednesday if Archer is ruled out.
Archer owns a 5.50 ERA and 1.46 WHIP with 80 strikeouts and 38 walks in 73 2/3 innings (14 starts) this season.
