Matt Harvey designated for assignement by the Angels
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Matt Harvey has been designated for assignment on Friday.
What It Means:
A tough blow for Harvey as he was hoping to revive his career by moving to Los Angeles. The Angels now have seven days to either waive or trade Harvey or send him to minors, if Harvey accepts the assignment. Jaime Barria was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move.
Harvey owns an embarrassing 7.09 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with 39 strikeouts and 29 walks in 59 2/3 innings pitched this season.
