Max Scherzer activated, starting Thursday afternoon for Nationals

The Washington Nationals activated starting pitcher Max Scherzer from the 10-day injured list.

What It Means:

Scherzer missed nearly three weeks with a mid-back strain. He's heading back to the mound for a home start in Thursday's series finale versus the Colorado Rockies. Turning 35 on Saturday, the right-hander is 9-5 in 19 starts this season. He owns a 2.30 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 181 strikeouts and 23 walks over 129 1/3 innings. The Nationals optioned catcher Raudy Read to Triple-A Fresno.

numberFire's models expect Scherzer to score 50.6 FanDuel points on Thursday. He's priced at $12,000.
