Indians' Danny Salazar (shoulder) to make season debut Thursday

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar (shoulder) is set to make his season debut on Thursday against the Houston Astros.

What It Means:

Salazar is finally ready after sitting out all season while recovering from shoulder surgery. Indians manager Terry Francona said Salazar will be used as a "modified opener" in Thursday's series finale after the long layoff, working the first three or four innings. The 29-year-old right-hander recorded a 2.60 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 28 strikeouts and 5 walks over 17 1/3 innings during his minor league rehab assignment.

numberFire's models expect Salazar to record a 5.01 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 30 K and 16 BB down the stretch.
