Pirates' Keone Kela hit with 10-game suspension for Tuesday brawl
Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Keone Kela has been suspended 10 games for his actions in Tuesday night's brawl with the Cincinnati Reds.
Kela intentionally threw at the head of Derek Dietrich and played a role in instigating the benches-clearing brouhaha. He filed an appeal and will remain active until a decision is made.
Kela has recorded a 3.45 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings (18 games) out of the Pirates' bullpen this season.
