Zach Davies going on Brewers' IL with back injury
The Milwaukee Brewers are placing pitcher Zach Davies on the 10-day injured list with back spasms.
Davies experienced back issues on Friday during his last start and they remained during a Sunday bullpen session. It sounds like the right-hander could be back when first eligible next week. Davies' next start was scheduled for Wednesday, but the Brewers will instead go with a committee bullpen approach.
Davies is 8-5 in 23 starts this season. He owns a 3.74 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 78 strikeouts and 41 walks over 122 2/3 innings.
