Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia undergoes 'knee preservation' operation
Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia underwent a left knee joint preservation procedure on Tuesday.
What It Means:
Pedroia has appeared in just nine major league games since the end of the 2017 season due to complications with his left knee. The veteran second baseman has admitted he may never play again.
Pedroia went 2-for-20 (.100) in six games this season before being placed on the injured list.
