Indians' Carlos Carrasco (leukemia) cleared to face hitters
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (cancer) has been cleared to begin throwing to live hitters this Friday.
Carrasco has been sidelined since being diagnosed with leukemia in late May. The Indians are understandably taking a cautious approach with the right-hander's return, but it sounds like he could be back before the playoffs.
Carrasco is 4-6 in 12 starts this season. He owns a 4.98 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 79 strikeouts and 11 walks across 65 innings.
