Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr. (back) likely done for the season
San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (back) is likely done for the season, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Tatis suffered a stress reaction in his back in Tuesday's game, and the injury appears likely to sideline the rookie for the rest of the season. Luis Uris is playing at shortstop on Friday and will likely see more starts there over the final month-plus of the season.
Tatis finishes his rookie season with a .317 batting average, 22 homers, 53 RBI, 61 runs scored, and 16 steals over 84 games and 372 plate appearances.
