Jose Altuve absent from Astros' Monday lineup
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is not starting in Monday's series opener against right-hander Edwin Jackson and the Detroit Tigers.
Altuve appears to be getting a breather. Jack Mayfield, just recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, is covering second base while Michael Brantley is in the two-hole.
numberFire's models expect Altuve to record 5 homers, 18 RBI, and 16 runs scored over the rest of the season.
