Pirates place Chris Archer (shoulder) on IL
The Pittsburgh Pirates placed pitcher Chris Archer on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Archer left Tuesday's start after one inning with soreness in his shoulder. No word on the extent of the injury but the pitcher miss at least one turn in the rotation and possibly more. Dario Agrazal was called up in a corresponding move and will likely take Archer's spot in the rotation.
Archer has posted a 5.19 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with a 27.2 strikeout percentage in 119 2/3 innings this season.
