Yan Gomes sitting for Washington in Game 1 of World Series
Washington Nationals catcher Yan Gomes is not in the lineup on Tuesday night in Game 1 of the World Series against the Houston Astros.
Gomes started Game 4 of the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals, but against Gerrit Cole, Kurt Suzuki will get the nod behind the plate. He'll bat eighth in the order against the Cy Young favorite.
In six games so far this postseason, Gomes has a .308 batting average and a .785 OPS.
