White Sox brass confident in Michael Kopech
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech has earned some confidence from the higher-ups in the organization.
What It Means:
General manager Rick Hahn described the 24-year-old Kopeh as someone who could make "a significant impact" this season for the Sox. Kopech pitched just four games at the major league level in his rookie season in 2018 before tearing his UCL, which required Tommy John surgery. The young flamethrower came into Spring Training with hopes of breaking camp with the big-league roster, and it seems as though he's on the right track as the new camp begins on July 1.
In 14.1 career innings pitched, Kopech has 15 strikeouts, two walks and a 5.02 ERA.
