Giants open to 'unconventional' rotation

San Francisco Giants president Farhan Zaidi said that he's "not even sure we’ll have a five-man rotation" this season and they "may have to tandem guys."

What It Means:

"We may have to do some unconventional things with the pitching staff to get through nine innings a day to get through the season,” Zaidi added. Look for the Giants and other clubs to explore similar out-of-the-box ideas as baseball adapts to a 60-game season.

The Giants' starters ranked 19th in ERA (4.77) last season and 24th in strikeout percentage (20.8).
