Dodgers' David Price announces he will opt out this season

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher David Price will not play this season.

What It Means:

Price will not play for the Dodgers this season after announcing the decision to opt out. "After considerable thought and discussion with my family and the Dodgers, I have decided it is in the best interest of my health and my family's health for me to not play this season." wrote Price on social media.

Expect the Dodgers to replace Price's rotation spot this season with Ross Stripling (36 starts since 2018), Dustin May, or Tony Gonsolin. With Stripling likely the current front-runner, numberFire's models project the right-hander to produce a 4.29 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 37 innings pitched.
