Mets' Jed Lowrie feels "good" but unwilling to elaborate on leg injury

New York Mets infielder Jed Lowrie says he's feeling better from his leg injury that cost him nearly the entirety of 2019, but he didn't go into detail about what exactly the injury is.

What It Means:

“I feel strong," Lowrie said. "I’m confident that I’m going to be able to do whatever’s asked of me. We’ll take it day by day, but I feel good.” While this certainly seems like a positive step in the right direction, his further comments were a bit stranger. He declined to describe exactly what was going on with his leg, saying "I don't want to create any distractions." When asked if being intentionally ambiguous would be even more of a distraction, he replied, ""Listen, that's something that I'll leave up to the Twitterverse. All I can say is I am doing, as a professional, I'm doing everything I can to get on the field." It's certainly an odd situation, and we'll see if Lowrie will be able to get on the field anytime soon.

Our models currently project Lowrie for a .257 batting average with a .709 OPS, 2 home runs, 10 RBI and 9 runs across 80 plate appearances.
