Giants' Buster Posey (personal) opts out of 2020 season
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey has opted out of the 2020 season.
Posey and his wife are adopting identical twin girls who were born prematurely and will be in intensive care for some time. Aramis Garcia isn't expected to play this season while recovering from hip surgery, so 2018 No. 2 overall pick Joey Bart seems likely to make his MLB debut this year. Tyler Heineman and Rob Brantly are the Giants' top catchers currently in camp.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Giants are tied for having the worst odds (+30000) to win the 2020 World Series.
