Cardinals' Dexter Fowler (back) held out of Saturday's intrasquad game
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dexter Fowler was held out of Saturday's intrasquad game due to back tightness.
Team manager Mike Shildt said Fowler wouldn't play in Sunday's game, either, which should give Fowler extra time to recover. There doesn't seem to be much concern over Fowler's availability for opening day. Still, back injuries can be tricky, and the team can afford to play it careful in the leadup to the season.
Assuming he suffers no setbacks, numberFire projects Fowler to bat 0.231 in 2020 with 6 home runs, 24 runs, 21 RBI, and 3 stolen bases.
