Rangers pull Willie Calhoun (hip flexor) from Monday intrasquad game

The Texas Rangers pulled second baseman Willie Calhoun from Monday night's intrasquad game due to a tight hip flexor.

What It Means:

Calhoun has had a rough 2020 for sure. Fortunately, his 'precautionary' removal for tightness in his hip flexor sounds much less severe than the fractured jaw he suffered when he was struck by a ball in the spring. We'll keep an eye on his status over the coming days.

If Calhoun is cleared to play by the Rangers' opening game, numberFire projects him to bat 0.266 with 9 home runs, 24 runs, and 26 RBI.
