Danny Duffy draws Royals' Opening Day start

Kansas City Royals pitcher Danny Duffy will start on Opening Day, manager Mike Matheny announced.

What It Means:

Duffy was out with a shoulder injury at the start of last season, but he also got the Opening Day call in 2017 and 2018. The 31-year-old left-hander recorded a 4.34 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with 115 strikeouts and 46 walks across 130 2/3 innings (23 starts) last year.

numberFire's models expect Duffy to record a 4.85 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 55 strikeouts and 23 walks over 61 1/3 innings this season.
