Giants' Brandon Belt (heel) sheds walking boot and takes batting practice
San Francisco Giants infielder Brandon Belt (heel) is out of his walking boot, according to NBC Sports' Alex Pavlovic.
A sore heel caused Belt to wear the boot, but that appears to behind him now. Belt was able to take batting practice today, and the team remains hopeful that he will be ready for their first game on July 23rd. The 32-year-old hit .234 in 156 games for the Giants last season, producing 76 runs, 57 RBI, 17 homers, and 4 stolen bases.
numberFire's models expect Belt to record a .245 batting average and .767 OPS with 7 homers, 21 RBI, and 26 runs scored over 206 plate appearances this season.
