Tigers' JaCoby Jones (oblique) scratched from Wednesday intrasquad game

Detroit Tigers center fielder JaCoby Jones was scratched from the team's Wednesday intrasquad game.

What It Means:

Jones is dealing with some left oblique tightness, a worrisome development with the start of the season just over a week away. Victor Robles took over at the position in Jones' place, moving over from left field. Perhaps if the latter is to miss any significant amount of time, Robles would get the full-time job in center field.

Our models currently project Jones for a .225 batting average with 4 home runs, 14 RBI, 18 runs, 3 stolen bases and a .657 OPS.
