Orioles' John Means (arm) could miss Opening Day
Baltimore Orioles pitcher John Means (arm) is in danger of missing the first game of the season.
The team announce Means as the Opening Day starter over a week ago, but the 27-year-old has since missed an intrasquad game Sunday and has avoided throwing due to arm soreness (including even playing catch). With the opener just days away, the Orioles might have to look further down their bullpen for their starter.
Team manager Brandon Hyde indicated that Thomas Eshelman, Wade LeBlanc, and Tommy Milone are candidates for Opening Day duties against the Boston Red Sox if Means can't go. If things do turn around for Means in time, he is projected to pitch 4.8 innings with 3.8 strikeouts and 3 earned runs for 19.8 fantasy points.
